Science Project On Diabetes

WHAT CAUSES DIABETES? The causes of diabetes are not clearly known. There is still a mystery in it. Medical scientists are unable to tell, that is why some people suffer from diabetes while others dont. There are certain factors which may lead to diabetes. These factors are concidered risk factors and an individual must try to overcome them.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF DIABETES? HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOU HAVE DIABETES? Symptoms of diabetes may include: extreme thirst, extreme hunger, frequent urination, sores or bruises that heal slowly, dry itchy skin, unexplained weight loss, blurry vision, unusual tiredness or drowsiness, tingiling or numbness in the hands or feet, frequent recurring skin, gum, bladder,or vaginal yeast infections.

HOW IS DIABETES SPREAD AMONG HUMANS? Diabetes is not contagous or spread among humans if that is what you mean.

HOW CAN DIABETES BE PREVENTED? The things you do now could help prevent diabetes later, depending on the type of diabetes.

AFTER SOMEONE HAS DIABETES, WHAT IS THE MEDICAL TREATMENT? Insulin was the first, and remains the primary means of treatment.

LIST TWO IMPORTANT OR INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT DIABETES? Two important facts about diabetes are that there are two major types of diabetes. In type 1 diabetes the body completely stops producing any insulin, a hormone that enables the body to use glucose found in foods for energy. People with type 1 diabetes must take daily insulin injections to survive. And type 2 diabetes results when the body doesnt produce enough insulin and/or is unable to use insulin properly.
